FAQ: Frequently asked questions about Winter Track
We place children in teams by age and team type (Sprint or Distance). The program is suitable for those serious about track and field and wanting to compete in meets as well as those with a more casual interest who want exercise and to develop their running skills. Hurdle training occurs but very limited training in field events (since we don't have access to those events at our indoor track at Babson).
Coaches will be available at selected meets during the season, though we will always hold Sunday practices for those who may not want to run in meets.
We are open to children with physical, mental, or emotional challenges. Contact us at needhamtrackclub@gmail or call John at 781-856-4088 for more information.
A typical Sunday session might include
- Warm up and Stretching
- Running drills
- Event skills training
- Recovery
CONCUSSION PREVENTION AND FOLLOW-UP: Though concussions during track and field practices are very unlikely, our club, town, and Park & Rec department believe all parents, athletes, and coaches should be informed.
